Today I started sketching assets for my game, I then took them home to get a hand from my girlfriend who being good at drawing, would be able to help me with making the characters and other assets look good.

12/01/17 – Rizing Games
I am now going to use these sessions to continue and expand on work I am completing in other sessions like “The Results“. Today I began to add code to the objects and get the basic character movement down.

10/01/17 – Creating my mood boards
Today I created some mood boards for inspiration regarding my game:

The above mood board is surrounding what the main character, the princess, will act/ look like. Getting a good mix between these characters is a good goal. Lara croft is in place center of the mood board to represent how the princess will begin to act as the game progresses, and will help when designing the more “tough” looking princess

10/11/2016 – Running Sounds
Today we created a sound for character running. We did this by looping a tapping sound to simulate the sound of running footsteps. This was done in audacity.
We also worked on level design and the layout and order of levels.

In this session we designed and animated a main menu, added a double jump and polished up the levels. The main menu now has an image which is animated to show the idea of lightning:

20/10/2016 – Developing my own idea
In these sessions I began to develop my own game idea by testing different things in game maker on a platform game I had created.

06/10/2016 – Developing our Game Mechanics further
In todays sessions we discussed how different roles could be fulfilled and other game mechanics that could be changed/implemented.
A nice feature we may now include in the game is that when the character hits a wall, he could change direction, giving a twist to an endless runner.
